- Applicants seeking admission into 1 st Year (3years' LL.B. Course) must have passed +3 or equivalent examination from any U.G.C. recognized University with at least 45% marks in aggregate for general category and 40% marks in aggregate for se & ST applicants.
- Candidates should not be more than 30 years in case of General and 35 years in case of SC, ST and OBC candidates, as on the last date of submission of form.
- The 3year's LL.B. Course shall be conducted in Semester system from the session 2009-10 comprising of6 semesters in total in view of Revised Rules of Legal Education and Revised Curriculum prescribed by the Bar council of India and as implemented by the North Orissa University.
- Admission to the law College cannot be claimed as matter right.
- All admission will be made strictly on the basis of marks secured.
- An applicant having graduate or Post graduate degree in any discipline of knowledge from North Orissa University or a University established by an Act of parliament or by a state legislature or an equivalent National Institution recognized as I Deemed to be University or foreign University recognized as equivalence, may apply for a three years' degree programme in law leading to conferment of LL.B.Degree.
- Minimum qualifying mark is 45% of the total marks secured in the qualifying degree for the general category candidates and 40% in case of SC/ST candidates.
- Age limit: A general candidate seeking for admission into LL.B. Course shall not be more than 30 years of age and in case SC/ ST/OBC the age limit is 35 years as on the last date of the application to the course.
- No candidates shall ordinarily be admitted into 1st year L.L.B.Course after six weeks from the date of publication of the Annual +3 degree result of North Orissa University or after the re-opening of the college after summer Vacation whichever is later. In exceptional cases the appropriate authority may extend or notify the date of admission.
- Re-admission into 2nd and 3rd year LL.B. course shall be within four weeks without fine and within six weeks with fine from the, date or re-opening of the college. A student shall be eligible for admission into 2nd or 3rd course only after he/she has completed 1st year or 2nd year LL.B course with requisite attendance. In case of shortage of requisite percentage of attendance he/she' shall be permitted to take re-admission in the same class subject to availability of the seats.
- Not withstanding anything contained in the preceding regulation, where the syndicate of the University permits increase of seats in any or give fresh affiliation to any college, the date of issue of such order shall be deemed as the date of publication or result for the purpose of admission.
- A candidate whose result is published late by the University may be admitted into the college within two weeks of the publication ofhis/her results without payment of any late fees provided that no candidate shall be admitted into the 1 st year law class on or before 30th September of that academic year.
- A student shall be eligible for re-admission in to 2nd or 3rd year course having requisite percentage of attendance i.e. 70% 0 attendance ID the preceding academic year. In exceptional cases principal of the college may condone 10% attendance of al student seeking re-admission into 2nd and 3rd year class subject to production of a Medical certificate from the registered Medical practitioner. A student who has represented in the various games and sports in the National and International level may be exempted by the University authorities for any shortfall of his/her class attendance.
- Duration course leading to the degree of Bachelor of law shall be spread over for a period of 3 academic years in six semesters.
- A student for Bachelor degree in law shall have to pass all the six semesters examination of North Orissa University.
- The student shall have to complete the course within five year from the year of admission into the LL.B. Course.
Any registered student of the University may be admitted into semester examinations if he/she has completed the course in one or more law college. The combined attendance of both the colleges shall be taken for the eligibility into the examination and re-admission.
- A registered student of the University may be admitted into 5th or6th semester examination only if he/she cleared 1st or 2nd semester examinations.
- A registered student shall be allowed to appear 1st and 3rd ,2nd and 4th semester examinations having requisite attendance.
- A registered student shall be allowed to appear 4th and 6th or 3rd and 5th semester examinations at a time having requisite attendance.
- Aggregate mark for passing the LL.B degree examination shall be the grand total of aggregate marks of all semester examination i.e. 1st to 6th semester examinations.
- In order to pass any semester examination a candidate shall have to secure at least 30% marks in each paper with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
- 2nd class - 50% of the total marks or more but less than 60% in aggregate in all semester examinations result together.1st Class - 60% of the total marks or more in aggregate in all semester examinations result together.
- If a candidate is marked absent in any sitting of an examination. Such a candidate shall have to appear in that paper only in order to pass the said examination.
- Back paper examination- A student failed to secure less than 30% marks in any paper or 50% marks in a paper and secured less than 50% marks in aggregate in any semester examinations may be allowed to reappear in those papers not more than two chances immediately following that examination in which he was eligible. If a candidate fails to clear within the above mentioned chances he/she shall reappear in all papers in that semester examinations within five years.
The 3year's LL.B. Course shall be conducted in Semester system from the session 2010-11 comprising of 6 Semesters in total in view of Revised Rules of Legal Education and Revised Curriculum prescribed by the Bar council of India and as implemented by the North Orissa University.
